Fugglers | Adopt At Your Own Risk

This is a launch campaign for Fugglers, the funny-ugly monsters that will bewitch your heart and destroy your home with their outrageously mischievous antics. To get these horrible creatures into the hands of unsuspecting humans, we positioned them as up for adoption, and gave each a totally bonkers name and personality. It worked. There are fools all over the world whose lives have been turned upside-down by a Fuggler or two. What a shame.

This campaign was nominated for a Shorty Award (we won Audience Honor!) and made the front page of Reddit.

We made 10 quick, bold, very weird videos to highlight each Fuggler and the very particular type of havoc they each prefer to unleash. Interested in adoption Mr. Buttons? Have fun waking up to the putrid stench of Fuggler farts pervading your nose-holes, you idiot.

These videos were used as paid pre-roll and social ads. Unfortunately, they got tons of views of click-throughs.

What the h-e-double-hockeysticks is Indecisive Monster up to this time? Honestly, you can’t turn your back for one second with these guys.

Gap Tooth McGoo will cause a scene at Thanksgiving, guaranteed. But at least you’ll have something to talk about with your awkward cousin?

Adopting online is a terrible idea.

But a bunch of clueless nerds did it anyways. This site showed every single Fuggler up for adoption, described the adoption process in gory detail, and duped well-intentioned but recklessly dumb weirdos into ruining their own lives.

Adopting in person is also a terrible idea.

How do you get Fugglers off the streets and into the homes of well-meaning but foolish humans? You throw a pop-up adoption event in Austin, Texas, and lure potential adopters inside with the promise of popsicles. Then you really put them through the ringer: fugged up adoption questionnaires, a search through gross garbage, and a nauseating VR experience that really nails what it’s like to live with a Fuggler. Hundreds of people left with Fugglers, and every single one of them regrets it!
